Job Title: Engineering Manager

Hiring Manager : Chief Technology Officer

Location: Remote (South Asia)

What do you get to do?

• Work with the CTO, Product Owners, Project Managers and Sr. Developers to set development goals, timelines, and expectations across engineering and business units and help define the next generation of products, services, and culture at Brankas
• Interact with clients, third-parties, suppliers, and contractors as needed
• Lead the development team to execute and deliver specific technical and engineering work, such as API development, architecture definitions, deployments.
• Ensure team adherence to best practices in security, architecture, and infrastructure
• Stay current with modern development practices and cloud technologies
• Ensure adherence to technical processes, and work to create a culture of sound engineering principles within the organization
• Perform periodic code reviews with Junior and Senior Engineers, and engage with team members constructively
• Represent Brankas at trade shows and community events in order to increase company exposure and advance recruitment efforts positively
• Engage developer community and handle initial/secondary technical recruitment and screening, and act as advocate for hires throughout the recruitment process

What do we look for in you?

• Prior experience in a fast paced, cross- cultural organization; start-up experience highly preferred
• B.Tech degree (4 years), ideally in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience
• 2-3 years of people management experience in technology, progressing from Individual Contributor to Engineering Manager. Should have ideally managed more than 1 team.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and compliance frameworks
• Strong understanding of security-related concepts, architecture, and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of API architecture and microservices and prior experience managing ERP clients
• Familiarity with modern development practices such as Agile and Scrum
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture with 1-2 years of experience working with large clouds such as AWS
• Ideal prior experience in FinTech, Insurance, or other enterprise technologies
• Working knowledge of GoLang and prior experience working with modern frontend frameworks (for example React, Vue.js)
