About Decentro

Decentro is a Y-Combinator backed banking & payments infrastructure company. Decentro provides building blocks that help companies stitch their fintech workflows in a few weeks. While starting our first fintech venture back in 2014, we spent years convincing banks to partner with us. Before we could launch our fintech product (more here), we had to convince different departments within banks - including technology, business, leadership, legal, and support to get the green signal. Fast forward to today, we realise that banks & regulatory institutions find it difficult to help the longer tail of companies build innovative & compliant fintech solutions. What if there was a platform (think AWS for cloud or Twilio for messaging) that abstracts the complexities of banking, identity, payments, lending, and provides simple APIs so that companies do not have to spend years dealing with banks? Job Type & Work Model:

Freelance / Part-time Field Contractor (via Agency Partnership)
Work Model: Task-based, per verification

What is expected from you -

• Conduct Contact Point Verification (CPV) for merchants on behalf of payment service providers and payment gateways through the agency.

• Visit assigned merchant locations such as shops, offices, or warehouses to verify business existence, address authenticity, and operational status.

• Validate basic KYC details including PAN, GST, Aadhaar, or business registration documents where applicable.

• Capture required verification evidence including premises photos, storefront/signage, POS setup, and other documentation as per the agency or PSP checklist.

• Submit accurate verification reports within the defined SLA timelines (typically 24–48 hours) and ensure timely uploads.

• Maintain accurate and tamper-free records and flag discrepancies, suspicious activity, or non-compliance during verification.

• Coordinate with the agency’s operations team for case allocation, scheduling visits, and escalation of complex or high-risk cases.

• Maintain professional conduct while interacting with merchants and represent the agency responsibly during field visits.

• Ensure confidential handling of merchant information and adhere strictly to data privacy and compliance guidelines.

• Communicate proactively with the operations team regarding visit updates, delays, or verification issues.

What we are looking for-

• Based in Delhi NCR with the ability to travel across the region (own transport or access to reliable transport) for field visits.

• Prior experience in CPV, field verification, merchant onboarding, or background verification is preferred.

• Candidates with experience working with banks, financial institutions, payment gateways, POS companies, or NBFC field operations will be preferred. Experience with companies such as Paytm, Pine Labs, or Mswipe will be an added advantage.

• Access to a smartphone with a good camera and reliable internet for capturing and uploading verification evidence.

• Ability to work independently, follow defined SOPs, and meet verification SLAs.

• Valid PAN and government ID proof required for onboarding (background verification may be conducted as per agency norms).

Compensation
Compensation will be per verification / per case, as per agency guidelines and case complexity.
