About Decentro

Decentro is a Y-Combinator backed banking & payments infrastructure company. Decentro provides building blocks that help companies stitch their fintech workflows in a few weeks. While starting our first fintech venture back in 2014, we spent years convincing banks to partner with us. Before we could launch our fintech product (more here), we had to convince different departments within banks - including technology, business, leadership, legal, and support to get the green signal. Fast forward to today, we realise that banks & regulatory institutions find it difficult to help the longer tail of companies build innovative & compliant fintech solutions. What if there was a platform (think AWS for cloud or Twilio for messaging) that abstracts the complexities of banking, identity, payments, lending, and provides simple APIs so that companies do not have to spend years dealing with banks? We’re solving this pain point at Decentro since 2020. We’ve scaled to process $4 billion + in payment volumes & have 900+ customers across India & Singapore in multiple verticals such as marketplaces, banks, regulated institutions, fintechs, lenders, gaming, and more.

What is expected from you -

  • You will manage finance operations across our group entities. This is a hands-on role involving regular coordination with founders, internal teams, customers, vendors, consultants and auditors.
  • Manage monthly billing and accounts receivable — invoicing across different pricing and billing models, collection follow-ups, customer reconciliations and resolution of billing or payment discrepancies.
  • Manage vendor, consultant and partner payments — invoice validation, reconciliations, internal approvals and payment planning as per credit terms and cash position.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and ledger reviews, and ensure open, unmatched or incorrectly accounted items are identified and closed.
  • Drive month-end and year-end closure, and coordinate the finalisation of financial statements with consultants and auditors.
  • Coordinate GST, TDS and other tax filings, statutory audits, transfer pricing and ITR requirements with consultants.
  • Handle periodic regulatory reporting and submissions with support from consultants.
  • Prepare the monthly internal MIS for founders, along with data for investor reporting and other financial analysis.
  • Monitor cash balances and liquidity across entities, and manage FDs and other treasury activities.
  • Work with business, ops, product and tech teams on pricing, billing configurations, reconciliations, data requirements and finance process automation.
  • Support due diligence, intercompany transactions and other finance requirements as needed.

What we are looking for -

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on finance experience, including 2+ years at startups (Series A/B stage preferred) — comfortable building processes from scratch and owning them end-to-end.
  • Experience across billing, AR/AP, reconciliations, financial closure and compliance coordination.
  • Good understanding of Indian accounting practices, GST, TDS and statutory audit requirements.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with accounting software (Zoho Books, Tally or an ERP).
  • Strong ownership and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders.

What we offer -

  • The ability for you to make an impact and lay a foundation for the upcoming fin-tech innovations across the globe.
  • A multicultural and diverse team of colleagues from different Asian countries that speak on average 3 global languages.
  • Progressive and flexible work hours that match your personality and lifestyle.
  • Backed by global investors such as Ycombinator & Rapyd, we're a contrarian and progressive culture of independent thinkers and systematic executors that are driven to build cool things that matter.

Good to have

  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance).
  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, banking infrastructure or another regulated financial-services business.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or Metabase.
  • Experience maintaining or handling SEZ entities or overseas entities (e.g., Singapore).
  • Experience managing finance across multiple legal entities.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, treasury or investor reporting.
  • Experience setting up finance dashboards or process automations.

What this role is not

  • Not a passive reporting role.
  • Not a pure accounting-entry or bookkeeping position.
  • This is an operations-driven finance role with hands-on ownership and accountability.

If this aligns with you, time to hop on!
