Job Summary: The Director of Strategic Project Management is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the company’s strategic project management portfolio. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, assessment, and communication of high-priority strategic initiatives and programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex projects, fostering collaboration, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Key Actions/Activities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies to align projects with the company’s goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the project management group, manage resources, resolve issues, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, assess their likelihood and impact, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop key performance metrics, milestones, and budgets.
  • Communication: Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders to identify requirements and assess progress.
  • Executive Partnership: Partner with the executive team to translate company strategy into annual objectives and key results.
  • Leadership Reviews: Work with the CEO and CMO to develop Quarterly Business Review and Board of Director meeting agendas.
  • Organizational Change: Lead change initiatives ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new strategies or processes.

Leadership & People Management

  • Team Development: Build and develop a team of project management experts.
  • Talent Development: Identify opportunities for individual, team, or organizational growth. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement, and actively share your expertise with others..

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong understanding of Business, Finance, and related disciplines.
  • 10+ years’ experience in strategic roles such as corporate strategy, business operations, or management consulting.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional initiatives, teams, and large-scale projects.
  • Previous experience in managing a team of direct reports as well as leading cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on project specifics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet demanding deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven experience and success in initiating and managing complex strategic initiatives across an organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership with a successful track record in achieving anticipated results, outcomes, and deliverables.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the capability to build consensus, inspire trust, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative and consultative mindset committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Sound judgement with proven ability to influence, facilitate, execute, and achieve expected deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a large, complex, and decentralized organization is preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically, foresee future trends, and develop innovative solutions to address priorities and challenges.
  • Experience in change management and fostering a culture of innovation and transformation.

Compensation Range:


The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $151,656-$222,429 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan.
