We are a high-growth cybersecurity company expanding into Australia and hiring our first employee on the ground. As our Employee #1, you will be pivotal in establishing our presence, building a strong sales pipeline, and closing deals with enterprise and government clients. This is a high-impact role for an experienced hunter with a well-established cybersecurity, risk, and compliance network.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a mid-to-senior level Account Executive who can hit the ground running and leverage their existing relationships to open doors and drive revenue from day one. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building executive relationships, and driving sales growth in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and engage enterprise and government clients, leveraging your existing network to accelerate deal pipeline creation.
  • Pipeline & Revenue Generation: Own the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring consistent revenue growth and meeting/exceeding targets.
  • Solution Selling: Take a consultative approach to selling, positioning our cybersecurity solutions in the context of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) challenges.
  • Executive Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with CISOs, CIOs, Risk Officers, and IT decision-makers in the Australian market.
  • Market Expansion: As the first sales hire in Australia, develop and execute a go-to-market strategy, working closely with internal teams (marketing, pre-sales, and customer success).
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, security forums, and partner engagements to raise brand awareness and build credibility.
  • Channel & Partnerships: Collaborate with key resellers, MSSPs, and system integrators to expand reach and drive additional pipeline.
  • Cyber Insurance & Financial Sector Selling: Develop relationships and drive cybersecurity sales within the corporate insurance ecosystem, including brokers, MGAs (Managing General Agents), and insurers that provide cyber insurance coverage. Work closely with cyber risk teams to position cybersecurity solutions as part of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Sales Forecasting & CRM Management: Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data within CRM, ensuring a data-driven approach to sales execution.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: 5+ years of enterprise B2B cybersecurity sales experience, with a track record of exceeding quota and selling into large enterprises and government accounts.
  • Network & Relationships: Well-established phone book of CISO, CIO, and GRC contacts in Australia with the ability to secure meetings and drive discussions immediately.
  • Hunter Mentality: Self-driven, with a proactive, results-oriented approach to winning new business and an ability to navigate complex sales cycles.
  • Cybersecurity & GRC Expertise: Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, risk management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight, APRA CPS 234).
  • Cyber Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate cyber insurance, ideally with experience working with brokers, MGAs, and insurers to align cybersecurity solutions with cyber risk mitigation and policy underwriting strategies.
  • Consultative Selling Skills: Ability to map customer pain points to cybersecurity solutions, present value propositions effectively, and close high-value deals.
  • Account Planning & Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in account mapping, building strategic sales plans, and managing multiple stakeholders within enterprise accounts.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment as the first employee in the region, helping shape market strategy and customer acquisition playbook.
  • CRM & Sales Process Discipline: Strong forecasting and pipeline management skills using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
