We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up that gives patients and physicians simpler, faster access to medical imaging.

At the heart of Scan.com lies a different way of doing things: empowering patients to make financially smart decisions, enabling live scheduling for patients and providers, and easing clinician workloads through AI. It’s our mission to make medical scans accessible to all.

You’ll be joining us at an exciting time - we’ve recently launched our physician marketplace product in the USA to great success, have raised over $60m in VC funding and are on track to grow over 300% in 2024.

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for an analytical, numerical and all-round exceptional individual to join our Finance team based in Atlanta (Perimeter area). You’ll be someone who truly has a desire to help grow and develop a business.

WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN:

The Senior Accountant role will work closely with the Controller to manage the company's accounting, reporting, and financial operations. The role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations including cash application of receipts and payables processing along with G/L account and bank recons. The balance of the role will include operational business support and ad-hoc requests supporting the continuing growth of the organization.

As we are still a small team, you can expect to get involved in all aspects of the finance function, however your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the month-end process; delivering the monthly accounts in a timely manner
  • Preparation of management reports and financial statements
  • Continually develop our reporting capabilities to fit the needs of our growing business
  • Working capital forecasting and reporting
  • Delivery of business performance analysis
  • Collaboration with other team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes
  • Contributing to the forecasting and planning process
  • Impacting the wider business team with financial input
  • Management of the cash application and bank deposit process
  • Oversight of accounts payable, expense management, and bank account reconciliation process

THE TOP 5 THINGS WE WANT YOU TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR ARE

  • Helped define the accounting processes around month-end to a repeatable and timely cadence
  • Reliably owned the daily accounting functions related to A/P and cash application of A/R
  • Gained a comfortable understanding of the business and how to best support from a financial perspective
  • Built the necessary relationships within the organization to be a trusted partner
  • Implemented at least one new process that helped improve the team’s efficiency that was not specifically given as a task or assignment

You don't need to tick all the boxes to apply for this role. Whether it's your first role or your fifth role, we believe everyone can add value and that everyone should want to learn. However, these might be some of the ways you are currently adding value:

  • Applicable accounting experience and accounting/finance degree highly desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets and accounting software (Xero)
  • Able to adapt as situations and circumstances change
  • Demonstrable accounting experience, ideally within a fast-growth environment
  • Able to plan and organize your work so that it is efficient and effective
  • Have been involved in the whole accounts process: pre-month end close, month end close, month end reporting and year end reporting
  • Solid communication skills: able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:

We try to keep our interview process short and as a small business, we can move through the stages quickly. Due to availability, there may be a change to the order of the interview process, but generally speaking, this is what you can expect:

  • Introductory call/interview with Sam, our Talent Partner. The call is via telephone and will last around 30 minutes
  • Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview and will deep dive into the role and technical needs
  • All of our roles will have a small assessment stage. This might be in person, a take-home assessment or further video calls. Length varies, however, we are mindful that you will have your own work to do and therefore try to keep it as simple as possible
  • Meet the founders and/or other team members. Again, length varies depending on how many people and whether in person or via video call
  • Offer!

BENEFITS:

We divide this into the basics you should expect, and the added benefits.

The basics:

  • Salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year
  • 401k
  • Healthcare
  • All the equipment needed for you to do your role effectively
  • Flexible working with hybrid opportunities
  • Personal Development budgets
