Description
The Sr./Staff Software Program Manager at Laza Medical will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of our product development programs. This role demands a balance of leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of software for the medical device industry, particularly in imaging, robotics and software development. This is a full-time on-site position and will require reporting to our offices located in Campbell, CA.
Responsibilities, Skills & Hands-On Experience
  • Software Program Leadership: Drive the development and execution of complex enterprise software programs, managing timelines, resources, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with company goals and customer needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, quality, regulatory) to define objectives, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring seamless communication with executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Quality: Guarantee that all software deliverables meet the stringent requirements of the medical device industry, including regulatory, quality, and security standards.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow the software program management team, ensuring capabilities are aligned with the evolving needs of enterprise software programs.
  • Budget & Resource Oversight: Manage program budgets and resources, maintaining fiscal responsibility while delivering high-quality results.
  • Proven experience leading software program management efforts, ideally in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare IT, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Strong familiarity with software development lifecycles (Agile, hybrid, and traditional models), software release planning, and enterprise deployment.
  • Deep understanding of Quality Systems and regulatory frameworks for medical software (FDA guidance on Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
  • Proficiency with program management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale enterprise software launches, from concept through market introduction.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management for software development.
  • Track record of successfully delivering enterprise software products within regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and cloud-based deployments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485, MDD).
  • Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams.
  • Experience in developing budgets, project plans, and other managerial tasks.
Our salary ranges are calculated by role, level, and location. Please note that your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, location, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $200,000 + equity + benefits.
