THE ROLE

Sorcero is seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead our Applications Engineering Chapter. This is a critical leadership position where you'll build and nurture a team of talented full-stack and front-end engineers while directly contributing to our technical vision.

As a Chapter Lead at Sorcero, you'll be responsible for a specialized function within our Agile Squad Model. You'll be the technical cornerstone for web applications and APIs, while also developing your team members as they work within cross-functional Pods (Squads) focused on specific priorities.

This role requires both strong technical leadership and people management skills. You'll collaborate across disciplines with Data Engineering, AI Engineering, MLOps, DevOps, and QA to ensure our systems remain scalable, sustainable, and performant. The Engineering Manager reports directly to the CTO and can work remotely, primarily in the US Eastern time zone.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hire and build a globally-distributed, happy, and successful team
  • Plan and execute long term strategies that benefit your team and the product stage(s)
  • Understand Engineering OKRs and seek to improve them
  • Lead and drive significant results for multiple teams. Examples include, but are not limited to:
    • Managing multiple Engineering Teams with at least two engineering leads and individual direct reports
    • Leading business critical cross-functional initiatives in addition to managing a team
  • Lead and contribute to process improvements, especially cross-team processes in support of the overall technology organization standards
  • Hold regular 1:1s with team members and skip-level 1:1s with indirect reports
  • Be a mentor to your team
  • Enable your team to build high quality product features that perform and delight our customers
  • Give regular and clear feedback on individual performance of team members
  • Draft quarterly OKRs and Engineering KPI's for your team(s)
  • Participate in support of our production environment to help ensure its availability in collaboration with operations engineers and development team members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S / MSc in CS or related field with 12+ years experience in enterprise SaaS application development
  • Agile development practitioner with extensive experience
  • Strong hands on experience with Python, GCP, AWS and Micro Services
  • Ability to build and grow teams that excel through our values
  • Technical credibility with past experience as a product development engineer
  • Management credibility with significant past experience as an engineering manager
  • Ability to understand, communicate and continuously improve the quality of multiple teams
  • Be comfortable and effective in managing a fully remote global team
  • Demonstrated successful partnership with counterparts across the organization
  • Humble, servant leader
  • Exquisite brokering skills: regularly achieve consensus amongst stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to both listen and ask questions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S / MSc in CS or related field with 10+ years experience in enterprise SaaS application development
  • Expertise in building applications that offer Data and AI driven features
  • Self starter
  • A sense of humor, and ability to be calm under pressure
