About The Role

The Product Owner will work closely with agile delivery teams to ensure they build the right functionality promptly.


Responsibilities

  • Clearly defining the agile team backlog user stories and items.
  • Maintaining the agile team backlog and breaking it into sprints. This means working very closely with product managers and excellence guilds to constantly prioritize Build backlog and roadmap
  • Working closely with Product managers and Excellence guides to prioritizing the agile team backlog so that the important tasks are given topmost priority.
  • Working with Product Managers to break the Build roadmap into deliverable epics and user stories, prioritizing user stories into deliverable units of work. This includes documenting product specs and user value test cases.
  • Translating Product managers strategies into development tasks
  • Empowering the Build team with the ownership and agency to create amazing outcomes and solutions.
  • Driving alignment with the rest of the product owners and ensuring all product owners understand and are on board with the team's backlog and sprint plans.
  • Evaluating the work done by the development team in each sprint and providing constant feedback.
  • Ensuring the agile team backlog is communicated clearly to all team members.
  • Running scrum practices on a regular cadence such as sprint kick offs, sprint reviews, backlog grooming and story point estimation meetings.
  • Providing clarity to the scrum team on the product requirements and user expectations within the backlog items.
  • Implementing and upholding the rules and policies in place on scrum team resources from the excellence guilds.
  • Aligning the team to committing to sprint deadlines and nurturing the sense of accountability and responsibility of the sprint.
  • Upskilling Oraan’s product owner skills and processes by participating in Product excellence guild agendas and internal projects.
  • Driving a culture of cross-domain collaboration when it comes to delivering working software and value. This can include company wide demos, feature or epic kicks offs and supervising release protocols.
  • Communicating delivery updates and changes in the sprints and team backlog to product managers across the organization and make a case for why more time or resources may be needed.
  • Communicating and connecting different domains over the agile team backlog and work status.
  • Working with Product Managers to anticipate, identify, and address roadblocks holding up the Build teams on delivery.
  • Intaking small improvements, bugs and small tech debt into the Build backlog and roadmap.
  • Maintaining and documenting debt in agile team backlog
  • Working closely with the excellence guilds, product managers and dev-leads to determine when to do feature delivery work and when the focus should be on paying debt, iterating or optimizing the core product.
  • Transforming high-level business objectives and user problems into detailed Build epics. To do this, they work closely with the product managers.

    Required qualifications:

        • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline.
        • At Least 3+ years of past experience in the field of Product/Data/Development
        • Understanding of Product life cycle and the role of a product owner in agile
        • Self Starter with high sense of leading projects and teams
