Technical Manager (Unix, Sybase, SRE) – 24/7 Rotational Shifts

About the team

WSC Platform SRE Operation team is setup to provide technical support to products of WSC. Their services facilitate the production of Forms 1099, 1042, 5498 etc. and preparation of individual tax returns. There is list of Daily and monthly Activity which team perform for effective running of business. Team has also started supported clients file transmissions. SRE team acts as a final point of contact to generate and transmit individual tax returns. Team to ensure Production Environments Availability & Support 24 X 7 model and Compliance across all Environments, also define monitors and alerts across platforms and insure regular tuning and review. Additionally, team follow SRE & ITIL Process including , incident management, problem management , change management and Continuous Improvement, TOIL Reduction, Automation, and meeting SIO & SLO objectives, Observability Dashboards, etc.

What you will be doing

  • Understanding project KPIs, SLI's, SLO's, MTTD, MTTR, Error budgets, Chaos engineering and eliminating TOILs by automation
  • Exploring observability tools and creating/implementing dashboards
  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
  • Incident Management: Knowledge in handling incidents, participating in blameless postmortem, performing root cause analysis, and implementing post-incident reviews.
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Develop scripts to reduce toil and automate repetitive tasks, issues resolution scripting.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools
  • Setting up tools and required infrastructure
  • Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs
  • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
  • Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management
  • Recreates client issues in test environment, Identifies/documents how applications and systems interact to support business processes.
  • Interpersonal skills and technical product knowledge and expertise are critical to responding to daily Client-centric activities.
  • Writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
  • Understanding the business impact of reliability and performance issues.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, OSI, TCP/IP layers and protocols, as well as experience with network troubleshooting.
  • Managing Risk as an SRE

What you Bring :

  • 10- 15 Years of experience as Technical Manager
  • Expert in Unix/Linux/Windows command.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Sybase RDBMS, MySql & NoSql database (Mongo db)
  • Good knowledge of application support domain
  • Scripting in Shell /Python with good troubleshooting skills
  • Worked on/with System and Application Monitoring and Observability tools – Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience with 3rd party tools Management.
  • Hands on experience in preparing PowerShell/Python/Shell script automation.
  • Exposure to latest SRE, Cloud, DevOps technologies. Also, Knowledge of Containers, Dockers, Kubernetes/OpenShift tools.
  • Skills in using tools like Terraform & Ansible to automate infrastructure management.

Added Bonus if you Have :

  • ITIL v3 Foundation or higher desirable
  • SRE (Site Reliability engineer)
  • Financial markets knowledge
