About the role:.

Advanced programmer position within the Professional Services team. Individual will design and implement 4GL solutions requiring comprehensive analysis and research across InTrader's complex financial processing environment. Works on small to large-scale projects involving Fixed Income Portfolio Accounting, Regulatory Compliance systems, and Safekeeping Services functionality. Possesses deep knowledge in fixed income domain, specifically in Investment Portfolio Management and Financial Institution operations. Collaborates on customer-raised issues and enhancement projects as team member while supporting critical daily processing for major banking institutions. Works under general supervision with latitude for independent technical judgment. Identifies system risks and develops mitigation strategies for mission-critical financial operations.

FIS™ InTrader provides a comprehensive and integrated trading and portfolio management system that supports an exhaustive range of fixed income securities, investment types and regulatory compliance methodologies. Deployed across both ASP and in-house installation models, InTrader empowers commercial banks, credit unions, and financial institutions to quickly and cost-effectively manage their investment portfolios, safekeeping services, and bank funding operations while maintaining strict regulatory adherence. Development team works in collaborative framework consisting of members from Product Development, Quality Assurance, Customer Support, and Product Management groups. The development team is responsible for system enhancements based on customer and industry requirements with expected quality within critical timelines. Additionally, the team is responsible for resolving customer-raised issues and providing solutions at the earliest opportunity available to ensure uninterrupted processing of mission-critical financial operations for major banking institutions.

What you will be doing:

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact with business analysts on the onshore and offshore team and determine programming designs and strategies.
Develop custom programs for support issues and enhancements.
Research issues reported by customers and provide the solution within the expected timeframe.
Researches and resolves user problems as well as issues and problems with software systems, production processing and production environments.
Coordinates testing of applications, systems, processes and procedures, hardware and/or software changes.
Trains internal customers (employees) on changes, new systems or new procedures.
May identify new tools, technology or processes that improve the overall processing environment or processing efficiency.
Assists in the definition of external and internal customer problems and needs. Discusses expectations with customers. May explain solutions directly to customers where appropriate.
Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you will need:

Skillsets

Progress 4GL (ABL) Expertise Including

Advanced Progress 4GL/ABL programming and development
Progress OpenEdge application framework design and implementation

Progress database administration and optimization
Legacy system modernization using Progress technologies

Basic Unix/Linux command usage
Some Shell Script, Perl script, JavaScript, Angular, JavaScript Frameworks experience/knowledge will be added advantage
Exposure to ODBC will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Progress 4GL (ABL) applications and database structures
Write and review Progress 4GL code following best practices and coding standards
Develop and enhance InTrader system functionality for fixed income portfolio management
Collaborate with Product Management to implement customer requirements and regulatory compliance features
Debug and resolve complex Progress 4GL application issues and performance bottlenecks
Create and maintain technical documentation for Progress 4GL modules and procedures
Support system integration with external financial networks and data feeds
Participate in code reviews and quality assurance processes
Assist in system upgrades and migration activities for Progress OpenEdge platform
Provide technical guidance on Progress 4GL best practices to junior developers
