About the role:
As a Software Test Analyst, you’ll play a key role in the development of fintech products that are changing the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve consulting on software development or operations processes, quality practices, quality audits and software measurements.


About the team:

The AffinityEdge EFT Team works with all non-credit card (ATM and Debit) functionality to fix defects, add enhancements, and maintain the various switches supported (e.g., FISB, EDS/ISO, etc.) for regulatory compliance; electronic transactions such as home/internet banking, Zelle, and PayNet on our AffinityEdge Core.

The Team works with the Product Owner to plan stories for the agile iterations and provide estimated time-frames for each.


What you will be doing:

  • Performs functional testing of all EFT related products (Audio, Internet, ATM/Debit card processing) for integrated system performance, reliability, scalability and security on a Unisys COBOL mainframe.

  • Develops, maintains and upgrades manual or automated test scripts, test cases, utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans.

  • Create test plans based on user stories and unit testing provided by the developer.

  • Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms (including daily stand-up meetings, iteration and system demonstrations, and the project management application (Jira)).

  • Controls and manages own daily test activities.

  • Provides internal quality assurance.

  • Supports product owner to identify risks and develops mitigation strategies.

  • Organizes and maintains the test script repository.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

  • Maintain the EFT regression server and corresponding scheduled scripts


What you will need:

  • Inquisitive mindset, not afraid to ask questions

  • Ability to work independently, self-starter (has initiative), takes ownership of work

  • Ability to dig for answers and think “out of the box”

  • More than basic knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Organizational skills

  • Knowledge of methods, tools and technology used in software testing

  • Knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software that meets needs of client/business partner and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of basic principles, processes, phases and roles of application agile development methodologies

  • Knowledge of primary database engines with a demonstrated ability to write complex queries to be used for data validation and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of object-oriented development tools, techniques and principles with expertise in at least one object-oriented language

  • Skill in understanding and focusing on the client needs

  • Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met or exceeded

  • Ability to deliver results under pressure and within deadlines

  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills working with technical and non-technical individuals

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.


Added bonus if you have:

  • EFT related experience

  • Unisys COBOL mainframe experience

  • AE/MISER experience
