About the team

The Data Center Analyst will be responsible for managing and supporting the physical infrastructure of client-based data center. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance with Aon policies, and coordination with internal teams and third-party vendors to maintain a secure and efficient environment.

What you will be doing

  • Device Handling: Manage all server, network, security and storage device-related processes within the data center.
  • Technical Support: Provide onsite "Hands and Feet" support for hardware and equipment management.
  • Access Coordination: Manage data center access in compliance with client faced policies and procedures. Coordinate 24/7 access for third-party providers as needed.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all in-scope responsibilities. Update connectivity documentation for network patching (servers, storage, switches) and data/digital circuits. Maintain cabinet and row configuration documentation.
  • Physical Data Center Work: Engage with Client faced facilities team for tasks such as rack/un-rack devices, cabling, and equipment relocation. Provide onsite support for physical needs (e.g., hard reboot, media changes, cable checks).
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors (IBM, Dell, HP, EMC) for support activities. Escort vendors onsite and ensure work is performed on appropriate equipment.
  • Validation: Confirm with technical resources that all work has been successfully completed.
  • Shipping & Storage: Package IT equipment for shipment and coordinate with facilities/shipping vendors. Ensure all equipment in storage areas is documented per Client faced standards.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience
  • Experience in data center operations and facility management.
  • Strong understanding of hardware handling, cabling, and connectivity documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors
  • Familiarity with Client faced policies and compliance standards preferred
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools such as SNOW and CMS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with predefined deadlines
