Linux NGINX Load Balancer Administration(8-12 Years)

About the team

At FIS we are looking for a Product Support Representative to join the FIS Enterprise Treasury Client Experience team. The successful candidate will provide treasury and payments support to our client base.

What you will be doing

The role will involve daily communication with staff from leading banks and corporates to which FIS provides financial software solutions. You will be providing real-time assistance for business-critical products, to trouble shoot or produce an in-depth analysis of reported problems. Strong analytical skills are required to resolve issues of a technical and functional nature.

What you bring:

Knowledge / Experience

• Knowledge and understanding of financial operational and business processes.
• Experience in a Client Services Treasury or Payments role supporting clients on financial applications
• Experience working in Support role, Banking or Financial Institutions.

Skills

• IT experience :: 8 to 12 yrs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and mindset
• Good debugging skills
• Flexible with rotating shifts covering 24x7 as and when needed
• Ability to build, maintain strong client relationships.
• Able to take the initiative and work independently or in a team.
• Hands‑on expertise in NGINX load balancing (reverse proxy, upstream systems, caching).
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash/SH).
• Good understanding of networking concepts: DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, routing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for OS, network, and application-level issues.

1. Linux Server Administration

• Manage and optimize Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Perform OS installation, patching, kernel upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Maintain file systems, LVM, user/group management, sudo policies, and system services.
• Perform system audits, compliance checks, and baseline hardening.

2. NGINX Load Balancer Administration

• Configure and administer NGINX as a reverse proxy and load balancer.
• Implement upstream servers, session persistence, health checks, caching, and request routing.
• Configure SSL/TLS termination, certificate renewals, and security headers.
• Troubleshoot load balancing issues and optimize performance under high traffic loads.

3. Scripting & Automation

• Develop advanced Shell scripts (Bash/SH) to automate operational tasks.
• Build automation for deployments, monitoring hooks, log management, and backups.
• Work with Git and CI/CD pipelines for versioned automation.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on Ansible/Terraform deployments (preferred).

4. Incident, Monitoring & Support

• Monitor UAT & PROD environments.
• Lead root cause analysis for critical system or load‑balancer failures.
• Document operational procedures, runbooks, and configuration changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with technical experience

• Strong communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion
