About the role:

Commercial Loan Origination and Credit Assessment, Sales Engineering Group, Presales Solution Consultant subject matter expert.

Assist sales representatives in uncovering prospect requirements and identifying product functionality matches, gaps to develop, recommend and package the best possible product and/or service for client prospects. Conduct discovery and provide demonstrations to match prospect needs.


About the team:

The Business Solutions Engineering team for Commercial Lending at FIS is a very fast-paced, high-growth area focused on bringing maximum value to our Commercial Banking Clients. FIS offers a true front to back-office solution, the team is uniquely positioned to demonstrate the value we bring to our clients in the Capital Markets Commercial Loan accounting platforms.

As a part of the Business Solutions Engineering Group, you will be leading our efforts in expanding our Commercial Loan Origination (CLO) and Credit Assessment product footprint in the market. The Solutions Consultant will work with internal and external Clients to translate business requirements into functional specifications that describe what the system must do to fulfill the business requirements. After specifications are complete, the Solution Consultant will be responsible for configuration of the solution, as well as presentation and demonstration of required aspects of the solution.

What you will be doing:

  • Plays an integral role in the sales process utilizing knowledge of products and their capabilities to assist sales executives in addressing client/prospect requirements.
  • Develops appropriate product solutions to meet client/prospect business requirements.
  • Maintains detailed notes in enterprise contact management system to assist in bringing sales opportunities to closure
  • Participates in business requirements review with clients/prospects
  • Provides direction to sales support team for creation and packaging of proposals.
  • Provides input to appropriate sections of requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFI).
  • Creates and maintains product presentations
  • Configure, test and implement workflows and supporting business features in FIS' Commercial Loan Origination and Credit Assessment systems for demonstrations to prospective clients
  • Isolate, triage and resolve configuration issues
  • Delivers product presentations/demonstrations to clients/prospects either in person or via web-based tools.
  • Lead multi-day workshops with banking clients
  • Participates in product release process
  • Provides feedback on client/prospect requirements to FIS product managers on regularly scheduled basis
  • Interacts with vendors and other organizations where appropriate to evaluate third-party vendor opportunities and solutions
  • Drive alignment between Product Management and Sales organizations
  • Anticipate and collaborate with the team for business requirements, full product testing, and troubleshooting


What you will need:

  • A passion for commercial lending and financing
  • 5+ years of experience in either banking, lending or software sales/presales
  • Industry experience in workflow management, accounting, finance, and banking preferred
  • Hands on experience with FIS software systems CLO or CA (formerly known as Optimist)
  • Good grasp of technology and technical concepts, with an interest in new technology and how it can help improve banking and lending
  • Advanced presentation skills using PPT, Canva or other content creation tools
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • A willingness to travel to customer sites to build relationships (estimated 25%)
  • Excellent client service skills that build high levels of client satisfaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
  • Analytical and consultative approach to client engagements
  • Urgent response in a fast paced environment with multitasking capabilities and high expectations of timely resolutions
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate status appropriately and timely.
  • Curiosity and a desire to continuously learn
