About the team

The Private Equity development team is a core product‑engineering team within the Capital Markets division at FIS. The team owns the end‑to‑end design, development, quality, reliability, and delivery of an industry‑leading private equity accounting platform used by global financial institutions.

Capital Markets is one of the two primary verticals at FIS, delivering innovative solutions across funds management, cleared derivatives, commercial lending, corporate treasury, insurance risk, electronic trading, RegTech, and wealth and retirement services. Within this ecosystem, the Private Equity Accounting product plays a critical role in supporting complex fund structures, accounting workflows, and regulatory requirements for alternative investment firms.

The team is a cross‑functional product organization comprising solution architects, backend and frontend developers, quality engineers, and site reliability engineers (SREs). Together, they work closely to build scalable, secure, high‑performance solutions with a strong focus on product quality, automation, operational excellence, and customer outcomes.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Automation Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation solutions for an industry leader and a comprehensive private equity fund accounting and investor management software. You will focus on automation-first testing strategies, enabling fast feedback, high confidence releases, and scalable quality practices across teams.

What you bring:

Knowledge / Experience

Lead requirement analysis, test strategy definition, and automation-first test plan design across functional, integration, and regression layers.
Design, build, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium for UI and API automation.
Develop and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable automated test suites aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
Use LLM-based structured prompts to assist in generating test scripts, test scenarios, and edge-case coverage (added advantage).
Automate repetitive and regression-heavy test scenarios to maximize coverage and reduce manual effort.
Contribute actively to QA Automation metrics, including coverage, stability, execution time, and defect leakage, and share progress with stakeholders.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute toward sprint and release goals.
Build strong understanding of the product at both functional and technical levels, including client workflows in the BFSI domain.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Developers to understand requirements, identify gaps, and mitigate functional and technical risks early.
Design and engineer test data to be used across the SDLC, including backend and data validation scenarios.
Drive all phases of test execution and documentation, including:
- Functional testing
- Automation regression testing
- Integration testing
- Acceptance testing
- Performance and usability testing (where applicable)
Work closely with developers and downstream teams to ensure faster defect resolution and smoother release cycles.
Implement and continuously improve quality processes, documentation repositories, and automation best practices.
Guide and mentor junior team members on automation frameworks, coding standards, and QA best practices.
Ensure quality gatekeeping for new features and regression safety across releases.

Skills

8–12+ years of hands-on experience in functional and automation testing (frontend and backend), with strong understanding of QA best practices.
Strong hands-on expertise in test automation tools and frameworks, specifically: Playwright and Selenium
Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with generating and optimizing test scripts using LLMs via structured prompts (added advantage).
Strong understanding of BFSI / Capital Markets domain, including middle- and back-office flows.
Proficiency in SQL / PL-SQL, including writing complex queries with joins for data validation.
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux commands and scripting.
Experience with test case management tools, and version control systems such as Bitbucket.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Added Bonus If You Have (Desirable Skills)

Hands-on experience working in Agile / Scrum teams.
Exposure to Performance Testing and other Non-Functional Testing disciplines.
Experience validating AI/ML-based workflows or models from a quality perspective.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
