About the Team
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Full Stack Engineering Lead to join the Digital Business Banking team. This group builds modern, scalable enterprise platforms that enhance business banking capabilities across payments, onboarding, administration, and money‑movement workflows.
As a Lead Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, cloud‑native digital banking solutions. You will work across cross‑functional teams to set engineering standards, guide solution design, and influence product direction.
What You Will Be Doing
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Own the end‑to‑end technical design, architecture, and implementation of complex full‑stack solutions.
Lead development of scalable applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and modern event‑driven architectures.
Define engineering standards, best practices, coding conventions, and CI/CD guidelines for the team.
Evaluate new technologies, tools, and patterns to improve system performance, resilience, and security.
Core Engineering & Delivery
Build and guide development of reusable components, REST APIs, backend services, and cloud‑native capabilities.
Ensure high‑quality, maintainable code with strong adherence to engineering principles.
Oversee critical production issue analysis, root‑cause identification, and long‑term corrective actions.
Problem Solving & Technical Ownership
Break down complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack (frontend, backend, integration, cloud).
Optimize system performance, memory usage, and application reliability.
Quality, Testing & Governance
Champion automated testing practices: unit, integration, and performance testing.
Drive code reviews for maintainability, security, and scalability.
Introduce engineering governance practices including static code analysis, observability, and DevOps automation.
Collaboration & Mentoring
Work closely with Product, Architecture, QA, Cloud, Security, and cross‑functional teams.
Mentor, coach, and upskill engineers; influence team culture and technical direction.
Lead design discussions, architecture reviews, and contribute to roadmap planning.
What You Bring
7–10+ years of overall experience in full‑stack development with increasing ownership.
Deep expertise in React.js, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, UI patterns, and frontend architecture.
Strong backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.
Proven experience designing solutions using AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB/RDS, API Gateway).
Strong database expertise (Oracle/SQL Server); understanding of distributed data patterns.
Hands‑on experience setting up scalable CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based workflows, and DevOps practices.
Experience guiding or integrating with API Gateway solutions (Kong Gateway preferred).
Exposure to AI/ML or LLM‑based applications is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and complex problem‑solving abilities.
Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, drive outcomes, and deliver high‑quality results in an Agile environment.
