About the role:

Career professional role. Highly skilled, demonstrates extensive proficiency. Works under minimal supervision on complex projects with a wide latitude for independent judgment. Acts as a mentor to less experienced peers. This position is responsible for implementing and supporting best practices and procedures in version control, software development lifecycle management, application build management, application distribution and deployment management, and other software configuration management activities. Sets up complex projects in the version control tool, creates and troubleshoots distributed builds/compiles, as well as trains and consults with development teams on how to use the tools. Requires some scripting or coding responsibilities. May be responsible for upgrading or installing new hardware and software components.

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinates, facilitates, manages and controls scheduled and approved change windows for product release and infrastructure maintenance windows.

  • Works with all parties to resolve change-related scheduling conflicts according to established practices and ensure proper archiving of software application releases.

  • Analyzes the software development lifecycle for process improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Works with development and release management teams to ensure business requirements are defined and solutions accurately designed to meet stated business needs.

  • Administers and supports third party source, version control, build, and distribution tools.

Administers and maintains source code repositories stored within software configuration management tools, e.g., CA Software Change

  • Performs software integration that includes building/compiling source code and documenting software build/compile process.

  • Assists with testing and implementation aspects of development projects including installation, configuration and customization of internal software and utilities.

  • Assist with setting up projects in the version control tool, creating and troubleshooting distributed builds/compiles, as well as training and providing consultation to development teams on how to use supporting tools.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

  • 3+ yrs experience in building and contributing to Build and Release for product environments

  • Proficiency with Azure Pipelines, Repos and Artifacts

  • Good knowledge of database, especially with MS SQL

  • Container Orchestration and Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters

  • Automation: PowerShell or Bash for automation tasks. Scripting in Groovy, PowerShell, YAML, and Shell

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps

  • Ability to work in an agile development environment and to support Windows-based & Linux-based application environments

  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills working with technical and non-technical individuals.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience of Agile Scrum / SAFe will be an added advantage

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.

  • Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.

  • Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team
