About the team

You will be part of our global Cloud Security team. Working alongside senior architects, you will design security solutions and guide fellow junior engineers in deploying them. We work on our Mainframe Modernization programme — ensuring every service migrated to the cloud meets corporate security standards, PCI requirements, and AWS best practices.

What you will be doing:

• Design, build, secure cloud security solutions and break them down into actionable tasks for junior engineers on the team; mentor and guide them through implementation.

• Provide security oversight to development Scrum/Flex teams, reviewing services as they prepare for mainframe-to-cloud migration.

• Perform security assessments on each service, taking into consideration corporate security standards, PCI requirements, and AWS best practices.

• Define and document new security standards for cloud-native services and share them with the wider Cloud Security team.

• Integrate security tools (SAST, SCA, DAST, WAF) into CI/CD pipelines using GitOps workflows (Jenkins, Terraform).

• Set up and harden cloud-based environments on AWS, ensuring secure configuration management across accounts and services.

• Contribute to security and compliance automation projects.

• Participate in threat-modelling and risk-analysis exercises.

• Build and maintain monitoring, notification, and analytics tooling for security events.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, design artefacts, and runbooks.

What you bring:

• 3+ years of work experience with hands-on AWS experience (EC2, IAM, VPC, Lambda, S3, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, etc.) and in cloud infrastructure, application architecture, or security engineering.

• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and a willingness to help define security standards for use by multiple teams.

• Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling — Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.

• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, GoLang, or Groovy).

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, Amazon Linux).

• Understanding of solutions architecture — ability to quickly understand a solution and offer security suggestions.

• Exposure to full-stack development concepts in an Agile environment.

Added Bonus if you have:

• Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, OWASP, CIS Benchmarks).

• Experience with security tools (SAST, SCA, DAST, WAF).

• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, React.js, Angular, Node.js).

• Experience migrating mainframe workloads to the cloud.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, CCSP, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist).
