About the role: As an Architect Principal in Professional Services for the FIS Modern Banking Platform team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to global banking clients throughout their core banking transformation journey. Your responsibilities will include leading the analysis and design of target state solution architecture for MBP client implementations, encompassing hosting strategies, dev-ops optimization, and integration with ancillary systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams at FIS to define and steer enterprise-wide architectural strategy and governance, as well as guide technology investment decisions and priorities. In this dynamic and innovative setting, you will establish best practices for architectural design, implement architectural standards, and provide effective mentorship to team members.
About the team:
As an Architect Principal, Professional Services on the FIS Modern Baking Platform team you’ll be a part of the MBP solution architecture practice which is responsible for using modern core banking solutions and patterns to solve real-world financial services needs. You will also collaborate with other MBP Professional Services and FIS cross-functional teams to support MBP implementation efforts for our clients.

Defines and drives architecture strategy with direct impact on organizational success.
Leads enterprise-wide architecture governance and compliance programs.
Influences executive leadership decisions on technology investments and priorities.
Oversees integration of architecture standards across multiple business units.
Champions innovation and continuous improvement in architecture practices.
Serves as a trusted advisor for executive leadership on technology strategy.
Handles highly complex, cross-functional challenges requiring visionary solutions.
Mentors senior architects and strengthens the organization’s architecture capability.
What you will need:
Hands‑On Core Banking Architecture – Practical experience designing and configuring solutions on FIS Modern Banking Platform (MBP) or comparable modern cores, covering deposits, lending, payments, GL, product setup, and core APIs.
Solution Design & Technical Ownership – Leads detailed solution design across core banking, digital channels, integrations, and data platforms; produces architecture artifacts, patterns, and decisions that directly guide build teams.
API‑First Integration & Cloud Engineering – Strong hands‑on background designing API‑driven and event‑based integrations using cloud platforms (Cloudera/Azure), middleware, and security patterns to connect cores with fintechs and enterprise systems.
Core Implementation & Migration Execution – Direct involvement in core implementations and conversions, including data mapping and migration, cutover strategy, coexistence models, non‑functional requirements, and production readiness.
Applied AI & Analytics Enablement – Familiarity applying AI/ML and GenAI capabilities within banking architectures (e.g., fraud, servicing automation, insights), including integrating models, data pipelines, and governance alongside the core platform.
Technical Leadership & Delivery Collaboration – Acts as on‑point technical leader for implementation teams, working closely with developers, testers, DevOps, and product partners while ensuring security, performance, and regulatory standards are met.
