We’re Scan.com, the digital health startup giving patients and their clinicians simpler, faster access to diagnostic imaging. At the heart of Scan.com lies a different way of doing things: removing waiting lists, empowering patients, and easing clinician workloads. It’s our mission to make medical scans accessible to all, and we’ve already helped over 10,000 patients in the UK alone.

As a clinician-founded organisation, patient care and satisfaction lies at the heart of what we do. We’re pioneering a new approach to diagnostic imaging, and are looking for GP's to work with us on a freelance consulting basis. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time - we’ve recently launched our B2B product, expanded our brand to the USA, raised £15m in VC funding, and quadrupled our global team.

We are keen to speak with GP's who are excited to work with a scaling health-tech company on a freelance basis.

What You Will Be Getting Involved In

We expect that this role will be flexible and work around your practice needs. However we are looking for someone who can offer good availability throughout the week, for example, a few hours each day or a few days each week.

You will be part of a consultation team of 23 practitioners who are supported by our Chief Medical Officer. Following our onboarding and training programme, you will be responsible for pre and post imaging referral consultations, speaking directly with patients to ascertain whether there is a clinical justification for diagnostic imaging.

You will work closely with our Senior Clinical Team to provide the highest quality of medical care for Scan.com patients. You may also be involved in leading webinars and training for other medical professionals.

OUR REQUIREMENTS:
  • You are GMC registered
  • You hold a current enhanced DBS certificate
  • You can provide an up to date appraisal
  • The ability to act swiftly and professionally within expected timeframes for private patients
  • You are mission driven and enjoy interacting with patients
  • You are able to commit a minimum of 3-5 hours per week

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:

We try to keep our interview process short and as a small business we can move through the stages quickly. Due to availability there may be a change to the order of the interview process, but generally speaking this is what you can expect:
  • Introductory call/interview with Clare, our People Lead. The call is usually via telephone and will last around 30 minutes.
  • Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes.
  • Meet the founders and/or other team members. Again, length varies depending on how many people and whether in person or via video call.
  • Offer!

RATE

This role pays an hourly rate of £120 per hour (indemnity insurance included)
